Phone Company Donates to Local Charities

Two Savannah charities received some much-needed money today, courtesy of AT&T. Company officials and state senator Eric Johnson (R-Savannah) presented the Living Vine with a $2,500 check. The Living Vine is a home for pregnant women.

Another $2,500 check was given to the Ash Tree organization, which helps rehabilitate juvenile offenders. Ash Tree's executive director, Morris Brown, says the extra money will come in handy. "It will help us do things we couldn't have done otherwise, so I appreciate AT&T and their contribution and I can assure you the money will be spent wisely."

Brown added that a portion of the money will be used to help feed the children at Ash Tree.
