French tourists traveling along the East Coast wrapped up their US visit today in Savannah. The group stopped by the Savannah History Museum for a tour. Two of the tourists have ties to the city. They are descendents of French soldiers who fought in the Siege of Savannah 225 years ago.
The group enjoyed learning more about the battle and other history. They were also very impressed by our Southern hospitality.
"Savannah is a wonderful city and we have been welcomed so warmly since we arrived and we are impressed with all the remembrance here," said Jacques de Trentinian.
The group is getting a real taste of Savannah tonight with a Low Country boil. They'll spend the night here and head back to France tomorrow.
