City of Atlanta Public Works employees are working 12-hour shifts in preparation for the winter storm heading to the area. Officials said the Public Works employees and private contractors will be operating 65 trucks equipped with salt spreaders and 60 trucks with plows.
"Our first priority is hospitals, priority routes, fire stations, emergency services, our major roads, schools, and Marta stations so we can make sure the city functions safely," said Commissioner Richard Mendoza, with the City of Atlanta's Public Works Department.
