ALMA, GA (WTOC) -

An investigation is underway following an intense house fire Tuesday afternoon in Bacon County.

Bacon County firefighters were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Ocelot Road in Alma in reference to a structure fire around 3 p.m.

When fire crews arrived at the scene the house was engulfed in flames and quickly spread to a nearby tree, setting it on fire as well.

The Wills, a family of four that include 2 adults and two children, lived in the home but were not there when the fire broke out. Luckily no injuries were reported.

The home is a complete loss. The cause remains under investigation.

Officials say the family of four lost everything. A fund titled, "Burn-Out Fund," has been established for the Wills at FNB South in Alma to help them recover and rebuild.
