Georgia Power crews are in northern Effingham County.
CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -
Emergency agencies are warning drivers in the Lowcountry and areas of Georgia to stay off the roadways.
After 10 p.m. Wednesday, a freeze line approaches west Chatham, mostly the Port Wentworth area, and bridge/overpass freezing is possible for extreme northwest Chatham County, according to the Chatham Emergency Management Agency.
Statesboro police said that residents there are encouraged to stay off the roadways if possible and are strongly encouraged to avoid them after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Statesboro police said that there are several power lines are down across the city. Power companies and city workers are working to fix the power issues, but there is no time estimation on when power will be restored.
