4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team changes command


The 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, has a new commander.

Col. Kimo Gallahue relinquished command to Col. Thomas Gukeisen during a ceremony Wednesday morning at Fort Stewart.

Col. Gallahue served as the brigade's commander for 29 months, including a deployment to Afghanistan.

"He's a tried, proven combat professional," said Gallahue. "I'm sure he will handle it with the grace and the skill he has handled everything in his career. And he's a great friend of mine. I'm confident in the job he'll do. The brigade is in great hands."

Col. Gukeisen's most recent command was with the 3rd Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division from 2009 to 2011.
