Emergency responders are staying busy in Hampton County, where tree limbs and downed power lines are keeping customers in the dark.
A tree limb knocked down some of the power lines along part of Highway 601, and that is just one example of what emergency responders have been dealing with all across Hampton County.
Ice can be found virtually everywhere in Hampton County.
SCE&G customer Lakeisha Green said, "We [are] trying to find something to eat, we haven't had power since 10:30 this morning. We [are] hungry!"
SCE&G and Palmetto Electric are racing against the clock to fix the outages in time.
WTOC talked to Palmetto Electric early on Wednesday and they were considering bringing in help from their state co-op, except those areas have been hit even harder.
SCE&G said crews will be working throughout the night to restore power in all of the areas. Again, emergency officials are urging everyone to stay inside their homes during this storm. Do not go outside if possible.
