SCMPD releases sketch of sexual assault suspect

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police is asking the public for its help in identifying a suspect wanted for robbery and sexual assault of a woman Sunday morning.

SCMPD has released an artist's rendering of the suspect.

The black male appears to be in his 30s or 40s and stands approximately 5'10. He was wearing a black jacket and black pants at the time of the assault.

The suspect approached a woman who was parking her car at Candler Hospital at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday. He robbed the victim at gunpoint, then forced her to drive to an eastside location before releasing her.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or the location of the suspect is asked to contact the Metro Robbery Unit at 912.651.6694 or the Special Victims Unit at 912.651.6742.
