Police arrest man for murder and aggravated assault in Statesboro

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

The Statesboro Police Department has arrested a suspect for murder and aggravated assault on Saturday. 

According to Statesboro police, Dennis Weaver, 42, of Twin City used a knife against two victims, Marion Lamonte Wiggs and Lashika Weaver, on Hart Lane at approximately 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Wiggs is deceased. Lashika Weaver was transported to Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah and is in critical condition. The families of both victims have been notified.

Statesboro Police Officer's responded to the scene, located Dennis Weaver, and placed him under arrest.

This is an ongoing investigation. More information will be released as it comes in, however no further information is being released at this time.
