SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A second arrest has been made in the car burglaries at Volvo of Savannah.

Around 1 p.m., the second suspect was arrested, and police said at least five people have been arrested altogether.

Details are still emerging, but all of this is connected to the Volvo of Savannah break-ins which started Monday night. According to police, after stealing one car, the suspects came back to try and steal more cars.

Nakeem Sams, 21, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, obstruction and giving a false name to police after he was arrested following an early morning car accident.

Around 10:30 p.m. Monday, security alarms at Volvo of Savannah on White Bluff Road went off  and it was discovered that one of the dealership's cars had been stolen.

Police were called and secured the area, but a few hours later the suspects came back.

General Manager Chris Elliot said he was there when the suspects returned around 1:00 am.

An employee followed the suspects, and police spotted the getaway car driving at a high rate of speed. The car ended up crashing into a fire hydrant off of Abercorn Street and East 64th Street.

Sams was arrested, but the other suspects got away. Volvo is tightening up security in response to the thefts.

"I think most dealerships go through this at one point or another," said Elliot. "I think it was just our turn. We are definitely going to put security cameras in and have someone here 24/7 watching the vehicles and the lot."

Authorities are once again warning dealerships to lock the keys up to cars.
