SCAD students hold vigil for Venezuela

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A peaceful protest Tuesday night urged changed in theAmericas.

A candlelight vigil and prayers for Venezuela in EllisSquare were held by students at the Savannah College of Art and Design, sharingmemories and memorabilia of their nation.

"Venezuela is right now suffering a fight for freedombecause right now, we don't have any kind of freedom," said vigil organizer CarlaPrato. "Our country has issues in security, we have poverty, we don't have anykind of basic needs."

In related news, protests raged on both sides in CaracasTuesday, as police arrested the leader of one of the parties opposed to thecurrent administration.

The government said Leopold Lopez incitedviolence and vandalism last week.
