Bond was denied Wednesday morning for a man accused of stabbing his estranged wife and fatally stabbing her boyfriend in Statesboro over the weekend.
Statesboro police said that at about 9:30 a.m. Feb. 15, Dennis Weaver, 42, used a knife against Marion Lamonte Wiggs and Lashika Weaver at a residence on Hart Lane while four children were there at the time.
Weaver is charged with one count of murder and one count of aggravated assault.
Police said Weaver stabbed Wiggs several times in his upper torso. Weaver was also stabbed several times in the same area. A 15-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy and two 9-year-old boys were under the care of Lashika Weaver at the time.
The 13 year old and one 9 year old suffered minor cuts during the incident and were treated and released by EMS at the scene. Wiggs was pronounced dead at East Georgia Regional Medical Center at 10:02 a.m. Lashika Weaver is in critical condition at Memorial University Medical Center.
Weaver and Lashika Weaver are married, but separated, according to police. Wiggs was in a relationship with Weaver. Weaver was living in Twin City at the time of the crime.
