PRINCETON, N.J., Feb. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- DiversityInc.com is now the top website worldwide for all news and information about diversity management, workplace diversity and real-world instances of racism and discrimination, as measured by web traffic and social-media reach.
An increase in visitors to DiversityInc.com over the past year has pushed DiversityInc past Black Enterprise, Working Mother and Hispanic Business, generating more than twice the share of worldwide page views of all its nearest competitors. DiversityInc receives 100 times more web traffic than smaller publications like Diversity Executive, Diversity Journal and Diversity Woman combined.
DiversityInc CEO Luke Visconti explains why this distinction is so important for increasing workplace diversity across the county. "The more web audience we have, the more benefit there is for being included on our DiversityInc Top 50 list. The fact that more companies are participating-and reporting even better corporate behaviors-proves that this high-profile recognition is a real incentive." The 2014 deadline for participation is Feb. 28.
Alexa, an Amazon-owned company, also ranks DiversityInc ahead of all other diversity-management publications on a global scale. In the United States alone, DiversityInc ranks nearly three times higher than Black Enterprise (its nearest competitor), more than seven times higher than Hispanic Business and more than 65 times higher than Diversity Executive.
Readers spend nearly as much time on DiversityInc as Working Mother (No. 2 in time on site) and Black Enterprise (No. 3) combined, and more than three times longer than Hispanic Business. Visitors also read nearly as many articles and posts each time they stop by the site as all three of those publications combined. DiversityInc's bounce rate (the number of visitors leaving the site after reading just one post) is the lowest in the diversity-management space, just one-third that of Working Mother, its nearest competitor.
DiversityInc's social-media reach-more than three-quarters of a million people across all platforms-is more than two-and-a-half times larger than any other diversity publication and nearly twice the size of Diversity Best Practices, Black Enterprise, Hispanic Business, Conference Board, Working Mother, Diversity Executive, Diversity Journal and Diversity Woman combined.
"Credit goes to the entire team, but this initiative was led by our COO, Carolynn Johnson, who is currently finalizing plans to make our website's career center the No. 1 source for diverse talent," Visconti said.
DiversityInc's mission is to bring education and clarity to the business benefits of diversity. The DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list began in 2001, at the same time many corporations were beginning to understand the business value of diversity-management initiatives. The time-period for completing a survey for inclusion on the Top 50 list for 2014 closes on Friday, Feb. 28. For participation information, contact top50@DiversityInc.com. The results will be announced at an annual event in New York City on April 22, 2014, and featured on DiversityInc.com and in DiversityInc magazine.
