U.S. Marshals are now offering a larger reward for information regarding an escaped inmate. The reward for information leading to the arrest of Chad Dasher has doubled from $2,500 to $5,000.

Dasher has a history of running away from authorities and reportedly had another encounter with law enforcement in Alabama.

Deputies in New Hope, Ala. say Dasher led them on a short chase about an hour after midnight on Feb. 19. He fled on foot after his SUV got stuck in the mud. Authorities are still searching for him.  Dasher has green eyes, brown hair, and is considered armed and dangerous.

Deputy Chris Stephens of Madison County, Ala. says, "The individual's rap sheet extends to over 30 pages. Most of the violence has been directed at law enforcement. It's our understanding that the individual is addicted to narcotics, and he vehemently does not want to go back to prison."

Dasher escaped from the Tattnall County Jail with another inmate, Raymond Smith. Smith was captured in Texas.

Anyone with information about Dasher should call the Tattnall County Sheriff's Office at 912-557-6777 or the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102. Tips can also be emailed tousms.wanted@usdoj.gov. All information is confidential.
