BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

One man is behind bars, facing attempted murder charges in Bluffton.

Bluffton Police said Quaddray Dramel Gaston ran over a man with his 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe at a home on May River Road Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to the area and set up a perimeter search after someone fired gunshots.

They are still looking for a person of interest who may have been the passenger inside of that Tahoe.

They say this is generally a quiet area and they still don't know the motive behind this crime.

Investigators are still trying to interview several witnesses in hopes of solving this case.

They said Gaston admitted that he went to the home with his brother to fight several people.

"This is very preliminary that this was a group of individuals who have had some history together, a little neighborhood issue going on. We don't know what started the fight but there were approximately 25 people on scene when the gunshots went off," said Bluffton Police Captain Joseph Manning.

With help from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, investigators arrested Gaston late Thursday night after he fled the scene.

The victim remains at Savannah Memorial Hospital and is expected to pull through.

"We're confident this is an isolated incident and there's no real danger to the public right now," said Manning.

The town of Bluffton's Building Dept. has deemed the house unsafe because of the amount of damage caused by the crash.
