Hit and run damages business merchandise

Posted: Updated:

Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police are looking for the driver who crashed through thousands of dollars worth of merchandise outside of the Biltmore RV Park and Antique Store on Ogeechee Road.

Owner Barbara Bacon says it happened early this Saturday morning when they heard a loud crash, the next thing they knew the police were there.

The owner says they believe the driver crossed over into the northbound lanes on Ogeechee Road, hitting their fence and then crashing into the cement statues in front of their antique store.

Bacon says a car was also damaged after another driver hit one of the cement lions that had been decapitated and ended up in middle of the road.

Luckily no one was injured but the owner believes whoever did this was trying to hide something.

"If you weren't doing something you weren't supposed to do then why would you leave the scene of the accident?" said Bacon.

She says they believe the car was either a Nisson SUV or a truck. If you have any information, call police.
