Resurfacing to cause lane closures in parts of Beaufort

BEAUFORT CO., SC (WTOC) -

Laneclosures are scheduled to start Monday in parts of Beaufort.

State paving contractors will need toclose parts of Battery Creek Road and Waddell Road for resurfacing startingMonday, according to Beaufort city officials.

The work will include lane closuresat the following:

 

  • Battery Creek Road from its intersectionwith Oak Haven to the intersection at Mossy Oaks Drive, approximately 1.1 miles
  • Waddell Road from Battery Creek Roadeastward for 0.7 miles toward Ribaut Road.

 

"We will do our best tocoordinate this latest paving project to minimize traffic disruptions anddelays," Beaufort City Manager Scott Dadson said in a news release.

    The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department is investigating the shooting of a teenager at East 39th and Live Oak streets. Officials say around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night, a teenager was shot while riding a bicycle. According to police, the teen suffered non-life threatening injuries.
