One charged, another sought in Savannah home invasion

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are looking for a suspect at large after a home invasion on Savannah's south side early Friday morning. 

Detectives took one suspect into custody but one other remains at large. 

Officials say that just after 12:30 a.m., Metro responded to reports of a home invasion at Edgewater Trace Apartments on 10000 block of Abercorn Street. 

At 11:20 p.m. Friday, Corey Peoples, 26, was arrested for the crime during a traffic stop on Truman Parkway and a gun believed to have been used in the home invasion was recovered. 

Peoples is charged with theft by receiving stolen property (firearm), possession of firearm by convicted felon, armed robbery, first degree burglary and theft by taking. 

Metro investigators continue their search for the second suspect, described as a black male in his early 20s, standing between 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 and weighing 275 to 300 pounds. Investigators say that during the incident he wore dark clothing.
