Americans for Legal Immigration PAC backs White in NC7 GOP primary

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – According to a post on its website, the Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is endorsing Woody White in the Republican primary for North Carolina's 7th Congressional District.

The post said ALIPAC is backing White over opponent David Rouzer due to "White's opposition to amnesty legislation for illegal immigrants and due to David Rouzer's prior lobbying efforts to pass amnesty for illegals."

William Green, President of ALIPAC said in the email posting:

NC voters have a clear choice in the 7th District to replace outgoing Congressman Mike McIntyre. David Rouzer has proven he supports a form of immigration reform amnesty for illegal aliens that would disrupt American elections and bring in millions more illegal immigrants while Woody White has pledged to uphold America's existing immigration and border laws instead.

White is the current Chairman of the New Hanover County Commissioners, who once held the state Senate seat representing the county in Raleigh. Rouzer is also a former state Senator from Johnston County, who won the 7th District GOP nomination in 2012 before losing to McIntyre in the closest House race in the country.

According to ALIPAC, White completed the group's 2014 Federal Candidate Survey indicating he is willing to "support Americans and legal immigrants by supporting the adequate enforcement of America's existing border and immigration laws as the US Constitution requires for the protection of American jobs, elections, taxpayer resources, health, and lives.

"I am pleased to have the support of Americans for Legal Immigration," said White in an email comment. "We share a common purpose on the issue of illegal immigration – no amnesty, and no taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal immigrants like drivers licenses, healthcare or in-state college tuition."
