Arrests made in possible Knock Out Game assault on teen

The Glynn County Police Department has arrested four individuals in connection to an investigation of an unprovoked attack on a juvenile inside of a Brunswick store.

Officials say that on Thursday, members of the combined City/County Violent Crimes Task Force affected the arrests of four individuals in relation to a three-day investigation of an unprovoked attack on a juvenile that occurred in the early morning hours on Sunday inside the Wal-Mart on Altama Avenue in Brunswick.

The entire incident was captured on the store's surveillance camera, and the victim can be seen being punched by an individual later identified as Brandon Mikell Allen Jr., 18, of Brunswick, according to GCPD.

The juvenile victim sustained swelling and bruising to the face from the punch.

Three other individuals, Jervon Abdullah Sanderson, 18, of Brunswick, Kaleb Scott Dirting, 18, of Brunswick, and Ramone Rishaun Roberson, 19, of Brunswick, were all arrested in connection with the assault as well. Officials say that after the attack occurred, the four suspects fled the store on foot.

All four individuals have been charged with cruelty to children first degree.

Glynn County police are concerned because the attack is similar to what has become known as the Knock Out Game, in which someone randomly sucker-punch strangers with the goal of knocking them unconscious with a single blow. The combined Violent Crimes Task Force is keeping a watchful eye for any similar assaults.
