BOSTON (WSHM) -

Massachusetts State Treasurer Steven Grossman is sending out a message to property and business owners across the state.

He said you could have thousands of dollars to your name and not even know it.

Grossman announced the release of the latest names that have been added to the state's list of unclaimed property owners.

More than 45,000 new properties in excess of $100 million combined are owed to individuals and businesses in the Commonwealth.

The unclaimed property includes forgotten savings and checking accounts, un-cashed checks, insurance policy proceeds, stocks, dividends and contents of unattended safe deposit boxes.

Grossman said the list only represents properties collected by the treasury in the last six months.

To claim your forgotten treasures Grossman said you can head over to www.findmassmoney.com.

Grossman said you need to enter your first and last name and the city where your property or business is located.

Select "claim" and a list of unclaimed property with your name on it will appear.

Continue the process to fill out the correct paper work to access your lost property.
