Sexual Assault Awareness Week at GSU to be held in March

STATESBORO, GA (WTOC) -

The 14th annual Sexual Assault Awareness Week at GeorgiaSouthern University will be March 3 through March 6. The event is sponsored byGeorgia Southern University's Sexual Assault Response Team.

Events begin with The Clothesline Project and conclude witha Take Back the Night rally and march.

The Clothesline Project is a visual display to honorsurvivors and memorializes vitctimes of sexual assault, domestic violence andstalking.

The display is includes a clothesline with t-shirts in arange of colors representing the type of violence experienced. Each shirt isdesigned by a survivor or by someone who cares about a survivor or victim.

The display will be held in the lobby of the RecreationActivity Center and the Russell Union Rotunda.

Anyone wishing to share their story by creating a design is welcomeat either location from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Russell Union Rotunda or 10 a.m.-4p.m. in the Recreation Activity Center lobby.  

The Take Back the Night rally and march will be March 6,starting at 7 p.m. and will include a candlelight vigil.
