Runners in Savannah are getting their rears in gear!
Hundreds of runners gathered Saturday at the Nancy N. and JC Lewis Cancer and Research Pavilion to take part in the "Savannah Get Your Rear in Gear 5K" this morning.
The race is part of a national series aimed to raised money and awareness for supporting colon cancer patients and screenings. Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the US behind lung cancer.
Individuals and teams came together, raising money to support the cause.
About one thousand runners and walkers participated. There was also a Kids Run for the youngsters.
