Wreck involving log truck closed Eldora Road in Bryan Co., 3 injured

Wreck involving a log truck and pick-up truck off Eldora Road in Blitchton sent three to the hospital on Saturday night. 

According to Georgia State Patrol, there was a two-vehicle crash with three injuries that occurred around 8:05 p.m. on Eldora Road near Willie Road. The 2003 KW log truck was traveling south on Eldora when a northbound 2006 Ford F-150 crossed the centerline, traveled north in the southbound lane, and hit the log truck in the left front with its left front.

The road was closed for a couple hours, traffic was diverted.

Both drivers and a passenger in the log truck were taken to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the Ford, 49 year-old Richard Phillips of Rincon, was charged with driving on the wrong side of the roadway and DUI.

KW driver Calvin Brewton, 49, and passenger Tommy Burney, 57, of Claxton had their injuries treated and have been released from the hospital.

The condition of the Ford driver is unknown at this time.
