One horse strong, twin dies over weekend

CLAXTON, GA (WTOC) -

Some sad news coming this weekend from Claxton.

One of the twin ponies did not make it through the weekend,but the second twin is doing well.

According to Melissa Anderson, the white pony, and stronger of the two, died over the weekend. The second pony is full ofenergy and they believe she is going to make it.

A nursing mare is no longer needed.

    After years of an almost complete moratorium, the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council voted 12 to 1 Monday to open a limited 2017 red snapper fishing season in the South Atlantic. If approved by NOAA Fisheries, the season will likely begin in mid-to late October.
