TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A man accused of holding three sisters captive is in court Monday for a hearing on a different charge.

Fernando Richter is accused of assaulting a corrections officer in December.

Richter and his wife, Sophia, remain in the Pima County Jail on multiple charges of child abuse and kidnapping.

Sophia's daughters were discovered by Tucson Police in midtown in November.

The couple faces similar charges in Pinal County, where prosecutors say the family spent two years before moving to Tucson last August.
