It was December 2012 when city and county leaders brokeground on the $3 million to be paid for by SPLOST funds.

More than a year later and no work has taken place on theactual site.

Commissioner Lori Brady said she started hearing rumblingsthe project was over budget. The design phase is still very preliminary, butBrady said the county needs to move ahead.

"I saw one memo that said $260,000. I saw another that said$330,00. I've seen one that said $600,000 plus over," said Brady. "I justwanted to get it out there, get the plan going and how much it will cost thecounty. So I am just ready to get it started."

Brady said County Chairman Al Scott has directedthe County Manager to direct staff to move forward with design plans and thebidding process which she expects to see begin by the middle of the year.
