SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Georgia lawmakers are fuming Tuesday night after President Obamafailed to include the Savannah harbor Deepening Expansion Project in hisbudget.

This comes as a shock to man, after Vice President Biden said thedeepening would get done, "come hell or highwater."

Congressman Jack Kingston said this is especially upsettingbecause more than 350,000 jobs are tied to this project and the cost benefitanalysis is a dollar spent yields five and a half dollars returned.

Kingston said the Savannah Port Project was above partisanpolitics, something the House and Senate agreed upon.

Kingston said the language was clear, the project was underconstruction.

"Congress passed a law, just in January, to clarify that this wasa project that was under construction, not one under consideration," saidKingston. "And regardless of that, this administration has not funded it."

Lack of funding couldhinder Georgia Ports' ability to keep up with the fast growing shippingindustry.
