HALL COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Tameka Raymond contained her emotions when she spoke with reporters after a Hall County judge sentenced Jeff Hubbard to serve four years in a Hall County prison and to serve 15 years on probation.

"I think justice was served today. I'm glad that his kids will still be able to hold him and everything," said Raymond.

Raymond, the ex-wife of entertainer Usher, cried inside the courtroom when she told the judge Hubbard is a good guy, but he needs to be held accountable for her 11-year-old son, Kile Glover's death.

"It's a double-edge sword. No one really wins in a situation like this," said Raymond. "I think that people need to learn from his mistakes so there has to be consequences for his actions."

A jury convicted Hubbard last month. The judge called his actions reckless and fool-hearted. Hubbard was on a jet-ski when he hit the tube Kile and another child were riding on.

Hubbard was on Lake Lanier with the children's families when it happened. He apologized to Raymond before the judge sentenced him.

"I think that he was sincere, you couldn't help but love Kile. He couldn't' be lying about that," Raymond said.

Now that the trial is over, Raymond said she can focus on continuing her son's legacy.

"I plan to keep his legacy alive. I have the Kile's World Foundation. We are doing a 5K. I'm doing things in honor of Kile year-round. Kile's spirit will live on definitely."

That 5K walk/run will be on March 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at Chastain Park. There is a $35 registration fee. All proceeds will benefit the Kile's World Foundation.
