A Bulloch County Sheriff's deputy was injuredafter a suspect resisted arrest after a minor traffic stop Tuesday evening.
Deputy 1st Class Randal Normanstopped a vehicle on Kyle Sorrel Road for a minor traffic offence.
Norman made contact with the driver who gavehim a false name. The driver was later identified as Kenneth Chapman, 21.
Norman found that Chapman was wanted out ofEffingham County, and when DFC Norman attempted to take Chapman into custody,Chapman physically resisted arrest.
The two struggled until other deputiesreached the scene.
Chapman was taken into custody andtransported to the Bulloch County Jail.
Norman sustained a minor injury to his kneeduring the altercation.
Chapman was charged with one count of felonyobstruction of an officer, one count of misdemeanor obstruction, one count ofsimple battery on an officer, one count giving false identification, one countdisorderly conduct, a seatbelt violation and an outstanding Effingham countywarrant.
