Police: Burglary leads to 100 pounds of marijuana found at Mauldin home

MAULDIN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Mauldin police said five teens were arrested in connection to a home invasion and the man whose home they broke into was also arrested after they discovered 100 pounds of marijuana.

Police said they were called out to a home on Kingsley Drive around 1 a.m. on Monday regarding a home invasion.

As they were headed to the home, police said they stopped a car leaving the area and arrested five people in connection with the home invasion and burglary.

Then when they arrived at the home, police said they discovered some marijuana. After getting a search warrant, officers said they found and seized approximately 100 pounds of marijuana.

Tyree Blue, 19, of Taylors; Montrell Coker, 18, of Anderson; Jeffrey Howard Jr., 19, Aaron Simmons, 17, and Marcus Vance, 19, all of Greenville were arrested and charged with burglary and kidnapping.

Police said they arrested the homeowner, 37-year-old Irby Watkins, on Wednesday. He was charged with trafficking marijuana.
