SYLVANIA, GA (WTOC) -

An accused methamphetamine cook was arrested Thursday after a joint operation between the sheriff's offices in Effingham and Screven counties.

James Joyner, 37, of Sylvania, was arrested after investigators executed a search warrant at his Old Poor Robin Road home in Sylvania after a three-month long investigation.

Deputies found an active methamphetamine lab in the residence, along with several other items used to manufacture methamphetamine, according to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office.

"Joyner has an extensive criminal history and was currently out on bond for methamphetamine and weapons charges out of Effingham County," said Effingham County Sheriff's spokesman David Ehsanipoor.

Joyner has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine. He is currently being held in the Screven County jail.
