Savannah Children's Choir to hold auditions for Summer Camp

Posted: Updated:

The Savannah Children's Choir is holding auditions for Summer Camp on Saturday, March 22.

Auditions will be held at 9 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1802 Abercorn St.

Children currently in first through sixth grades interested in attending this two week camp held July 14-25 on the campus of the Esther F. Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts are encouraged to come. Financial aid is also being offered for the program.

The theme of this year's camp is At the Improv and will focus on building solid musical skills as well as improvisational skills.

The camp will conclude with Night at the Improv, a public concert at the historic Lucas Theater on Friday, July 25 at 7 p.m.

"We have Summer Camp financial aid available through a generous grant from the Anderson Family Foundation," said Roger Moss, SCC Artistic Director, in a statement. "By holding auditions for financial aid, we're able to meet the children, assess their interest and abilities, and have a chance to meet parents and explain the financial aid process as well as answer any questions."

"This is a needs-based program," explained Cuffy Sullivan, SCC Executive Director, in a statement. "Families with incomes less than $50,000 for a family of four or more, or less than $40,000 for a family of three or fewer are encouraged to apply."
