SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Bald is beautiful, and many people in Savannah will shave their heads this weekend to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research.

The 2014 St. Baldrick's Day event will be Saturday in Savannah's City Market, 219 W Bryan Street in front of Wild Wing Cafe from 12:30 to 4 p.m. There will be gold hair extensions with highlights for hope, face painting for the kids, or you can just come out and watch as your neighbors change the world for a child with cancer.

So far, over a hundred people have signed up to shave their heads during the event.

On Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., Five Guys Burgers in the 12 Oaks Shopping Center is donating a portion of their sales to the cause. Tell the staff you are eating on behalf of St. Baldrick's and a portion will go to the fundraiser.

Also, Cafe Gelatohhh! in City Market will bedonating a portion of all proceeds on Saturday to St. Baldrick's. Just say you aregetting a scoop for St. Baldrick's and they will make a donation in your name.

WTOC's MikeCihla will be the emcee for Saturday's St. Baldrick's Day event.
