Local artists contribute to ocean-inspired art on Tybee

Posted: Updated:
TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) -

Local artists took part in the "Forever Blue" art event on Sunday. The artists are hoping to help "protect and preserve" the earth's oceans.

All kinds of ocean-inspired art on display on Tybee Island at the Irritable Pelican Art Gallery. Profits from a silent auction will go to a "Mission Blue Hope Spot" for ocean conservation.

"To be able to bring different groups of people and realize that, it seems like scientists and artists and preservationists, you know, it seems a disparate group. But, when we really start listening to each other, we are saying remarkably the same things, and have a lot of the same goals and desires," said Kristine Kennedy, Artist.
