HINESVILLE, GA (WTOC) -

According to the Liberty County EMA, a house has been completely destroyed by a fire on Ruben Wells Road in Hinesville.

Investigators said the fire started at approximately 2:45 p.m. Monday.

They're looking into an electrical box outside the home as a potential cause.

"We had Liberty County Fire Station 15 and Walthourville units on the scene at the same time," said Liberty County Fire Capt. Charles Helton. "We had lines pulled from both trucks at the same time and just started attacking the fire. As of right now, with the way the fire was engulfed, it's a total loss."

The fire displaced a father and two children. No one was home when the fire started.

One of the children was just getting home from school when he saw the home in flames.

The bus driver called 911 and fire units from Liberty County station 15, Hinesvill and Walthourville were on hand to fight the fire.

The family does not have insurance, and if you would like to make donations, please contact Robert Brant at 977.3223.

The children are 10 and 12. They wear large and extra large clothing.

The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
