BULLOCH CO., GA (WTOC) -

Two men were arrested and charged March 10 in connection with drug charges.

The Statesboro-Bulloch Crime Suppression Team carried out a search warrant at a unit at the Stadium Place Apartments for drug sales, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators discovered Eric Rich, 38, of Statesboro, trying to flush a large bag of marijuana, according to the BCSO. The toilet got clogged and the bag was recovered. Rich struggled with investigators, but was taken into custody, according to the sheriff's office.

He was charged with felony obstruction of an officer, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and tampering with evidence (felony). While investigators were serving the search warrant, other crime suppression team members stopped a vehicle that was suspected of having just purchased narcotics from Rich.

The two people in the car Taivez Holloway, 30, of Statesboro, and Fontarian Deonta Harlie, 24, of Claxton, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

Two small children were in the vehicle at the time of the drug transaction and were eventually turned over to a family member on March 11.
