St. Patrick's Day officially begins in Savannah

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah is going green! The official Saint Patrick's Day festivities will kick off Friday in Savannah, and one of the big issues is you will need a wristband.

Festival goers will see a lot of wrist band stations around town over the next few days. They are back again this year and they go into effect on Friday.

The wristbands will cost $5 each day and they will be different colors for each day of the festival. They are only required for festival goers that want to drink outside of the bars and walk around. The bands must be worn in the control zone and if you don't, you could face a fine.

The control zone includes River Street, City Market down Bay Street.

There will be 24 booth locations that you can pick the bands up from. You will need to have your id and keep that with you cause bars and restaurants still have to check.
