Sober rides home

Remember, do not drink and drive. The Tennessee Highway Patrol and local law enforcement agencies are beginning extra patrols Friday night, lasting through Monday night.

Last year during St. Patrick's Day weekend, 13 people died in Tennessee due to vehicle crashes.

The Davidson County Sheriff's Office is again offering free sober rides home for Davidson County residents Monday night.

Rides are offered Monday from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. at four locations: Second Avenue and Broadway, Demonbreun, Five Points and Division Street.

Since the program started 11 years ago, more than 6,000 people have made it home safely over the holiday.
