Many come out to celebrate the Tybee Irish Heritage Festival

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Hundreds of folks, and even a baby dragon, showed up on Saturday to enjoy the Annual Tybee Irish Heritage Festival. Colorful floats, bands, beauty queens, and dignitaries filled Butler Avenue with a sea of green. The fun, family friendly event is always hugely popular for vacationers and locals alike.

"I like the music and the kids, you know, going along on their roller skates. Happy Saint Patrick's day to all my friends on Wilmington Island and Tybee," said parade visitor, Helen Workman.

Some of the folks from WTOC were in the parade. Operations Manager, Joel Kepple, and Meteorologist, Dave Turley were there along with Mike Cihla and Don Logana.

We want to send a special thank you to everyone who wore blue ribbons for colon cancer and for our dear friend Mike Manhatton.
