BRUNSWICK, GA (WTOC) -

Porsche's new hybrid sports cars have arrived to the U.S. aboard ships docking at the Port of Brunswick.

The Georgia Ports Authority says they have received a shipment of the new 918 Spyder hybrid. According to Porsche, the cars retail at prices starting at $845,000. The German-manufactured cars that arrived in Brunswick are headed to markets across the Southeast.

The Spyder is advertised as being capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds; the hybrid system provides an estimated fuel economy of 67 mpg.

The Port of Brunswick handles 23 percent of Porsche's total U.S. imports.
