Smart Start Georgia

Several youngsters sat down for story time this morning at the Bull Street Library in Savannah. The stories were read by some of our state representatives. As part of Smart Start Georgia, representatives are taking part in a program that helps develop children's learning skills before they get to kindergarten.

It's a program sponsored by the United Way that's gaining popularity through out the Coastal Empire. "This is our first time within Chatham County doing this program," said the program's Greg Schroeder. "We've now expanded it to Effingham County as well as Bryan County. Our hopes are to bring it into Liberty County next year as well."
