12 arrested in crimes against children sting

POOLER, GA (WTOC) -

Twelve people were arrested after a joint operation involving Pooler police, the FBI, GBI and the Internet Crimes Against Children unit.

The operation that took place on Friday and Saturday targeted adults who were trying to meet juveniles for sexual purposes online, according to Pooler police. The operation was based at various hotels in Pooler.  

Pooler Police Chief Mark Revenue said he wants to send a message that they will not tolerate exploitation or sex trafficking of children. The sting was done over the weekend to coincide with St. Patrick's day as the predators could use the weekend in hopes of going unnoticed.

Michael Rosales, 35, of Pooler, Jason Bryant Williams, 31, of Pooler, and Daniel Corvette Powell, 25, of Fort Stewart, Bengie Odum, 49, of Jesup, John Thomas Pratt, 56, of Hilton Head Island, and  Raymond Patrick Perez, 27, of Fort Stewart, were arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of children.

Odum, Perez, Powell, Pratt, Rosales and Williams went to Pooler for the purposes of having sex with a minor, according to the FBI.

Dantonio Roddricus Hogg, 25, of Columbia, SC, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and a suspended driver's license.

Hakeem Anderson, 22, of Columbia, and Kara Nicole Brown, 24, were arrested on prostitution charges (adult).

Ashley Doyle Turner, 41, of Charleston, and Cynthia Rodriguez, 28, of St. Mary's, were arrested on charges of operating a business without a license.
