SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Elizabeth Pryor, 22, received serious but non-life threatening injuries Tuesday morning after she was struck by a Chatham Area Transit bus while crossing West Oglethorpe Avenue at MLK, Jr. Boulevard.

Pryor was crossing against the pedestrian crosswalk signal when she walked into the path of the bus.

She was transported to Memorial University Medical Center.

"We had a CAT bus that was making a left-hand turn at the light, which collided with a pedestrian who was crossing the street," said Savannah-Chatham Metro spokesman Julian Miller.

Oglethorpe at MLK was closed for a couple of hours while the accident was being investigated. The road has since re-opened.

The Major Accident Investigations Team of the SCMPD continues to investigate the incident.

Pryor, originally from Texas, is attending school in Savannah.
