Great Savannah Cleanup set for Carver Village/Heights neighborhood

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The city of Savannah is working with Keep Savannah Beautiful and other local organizations to clean up the Carver/Village Heights Neighborhood on Saturday as part of their series of cleanup events.

The event will take place 9 a.m.-noon Saturday. It will start on Stokes between Hastings and Magazine, and Blun Street between Collat and Allen Avenue. The  jobs will include recycling, picking up trash and cigarette butts, mowing, weeding, cutting and cleaning up bushes and debris for senior citizens and more. Supplies will be provided by the city.

The Great Savannah Cleanup runs through June 28 in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup.

Residents can help organize cleanups in their neighborhood by calling Keep Savannah Beautiful coordinator Nathaniel Glover at 912.651.1967. 

Keep Savannah Beautiful is run by the city of Savannah, and will provide supplies and collect bags if residents can help with the cleanup efforts.
