EFFINGHAM CO., GA (WTOC) -

Three people are in custody on drug charges after more than 1 kilogram of cocaine was seized as part of a three-county investigation.

The Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team worked with the Effingham County Sheriff's Office, Bryan County Sheriff's Office and Drug Enforcement Administration to carry out two search warrants in Effingham and Bryan counties.

The searches resulted in the seizure of more than 1 kilogram of cocaine with an estimated street value of up to $42,000.

The operation is the result of a six-month, undercover CNT investigation involving drug sales throughout Chatham, Bryan and Effingham counties.

CNT arrested 35-year-old Antonio Garcia, 30-year-old Justino Santana-Mantano and 27-year-old Humberto Santana-Mantano, who are in the U.S. illegally, according to the CNT.

Garcia and Humberto Santana-Mantano are charged with trafficking cocaine and Justino Santana-Mantano is charged with party to the crime of trafficking cocaine.

They are being held at the Chatham County Detention Center.
