We lost a true champion for the Savannah Komen Race for the Cure with the passing last year of Dr. Amos Timna, race chair for the 2013 race.

A team has been formed in his honor Team Dr. T and the Women. Dr. Timna's widow Susan and teammates Cori Palmer were on Mid-Morning Live to speak about the upcoming race.

The Dixieland Cruisers of Savannah will present their 26th annual car and motorcycle show this weekend.

There will be live entertainment, special awards, door prizes and more so Dixieland Cruisers' Tex Lowther and Krey Lee were on Mid-Morning Live and spoke about the upcoming event, which will be held on March 29 at Windsor Forest Baptist on White Bluff Road.

The Lowcountry is getting ready for a weeklong recognition of its seafood heritage in memory of David M. Carmines who passed away from cancer in 2001.

The event will benefit MD Anderson Cancer Research Center, the Island Recreation Scholarship Fund and the American Cancer Society.

Andrew Carmines, general manager of Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks and chairman of the board for the David M. Carmines Foundation, spoke on Mid-Morning Live about the Hilton Head Island Seafood Fest. It runs from March 30 to April 5 at Hudson's from 3-7 p.m.  

The Savannah Junior League wants to help you keep your family healthy and happy. Come to the annual Fit Kids Fest at Daffin Park for some fun physical challenges as well as lots of information. 

The Savannah Junior League's Jessica Thomas, communications vice president, and Nelle Bourdeaux, League president, spoke about the free event on Mid-Morning. It will be held from 2-5 p.m. on April 5.
