FAA reports plane missing near Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, GA (WTOC) -

The FAA has reported a missing plane near Brunswick.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources is investigating a lost aircraft.

The Piper PA-44aircraft crashed four miles east of Brunswick Golden Isle Airport just after 7 p.m. Monday.

The flight departed Concord, NC and was destined for Jacksonville Executive Airport- Craig Field.

Small aircraft debris has been found near Grant Creek in the Mackay area of Darien/Brunswick off of U.S. Highway 17.

The Coast Guard is assisting in the investigation.

Two people are reported to be on board.
