DARIEN, GA (WTOC) -

The driver of a truck that collided with a truck parked on Interstate 95 is charged with failure to maintain his lane.

The collision happened at about 7:30 a.m. on I-95 northbound at mile marker 47 near the Darien exit. Officials say a semi carrying beer was going north on 95 traveling from Jacksonville to South Carolina, when it slammed into a truck parked along the interstate, lost control and hit a guardrail which left part of the truck dangling over the side. Beer was spilled all over the roadway, adding more difficulty to the situation.

The Georgia State Patrol said Mark Wright, 53, of Knoxville, TN, was driving the truck of beer and hit the truck parked along the highway that was drive by 48-year-old Kano Mohamed, of Snellville. Mohamed was not injured.

Mohamed placed warning signs and was having brake problems, which is why he was parked along the highway, according to the GSP.

Part of the interstate was closed as crews worked to remove the wreckage and debris from the roadway. The crash remains under investigation.
