News conference underway for Brunswick plane crash

BRUNSWICK, GA (WTOC) -

A news conference is underway Tuesday afternoon about a Piper PA-44 aircraft that crashed Monday night. 

Officials from the FAA and NTSB traveling to Jacksonville, FL. They went to the crash site and then headed to the Jacksonville Executive Airport. Police Chief Matt Doering is briefing the media about the crash.

The plane with two people on board crashed at 7:10 p.m., 4 miles east of Brunswick Golden Isles Airport in Brunswick, according to the PAA. The plane departed from Concord, NC, and was headed to the Jacksonville Executive Airport/Craig Field near Jacksonville, FL. The aircraft is not registered in NC.

The FAA is investigating the crash. The NTSB will work to determine the probable cause of the crash.
